About Us
As a child, I wanted stuffed animals when others wanted to play with dolls. At 10 years old, I had begged for riding lessons hard enough to get them. In Junior High, I was braiding a horse tail when my friends where learning how to do their hair and make up. That's me showing at the Iowa State Fair Society Show in the 5 gaited class my senior year of high school. I have ALWAYS loved animals.
What I learned from the old horse trainers has to do with efficiency. The time, effort and money expended bringing a horse to the show ring is tremendous. Don't invest in an animal that is not correct in confirmation and, thus, not capable of doing the task at hand. Quality does as quality is. It colored my out look on owning dogs. If you're going to have one, it might as well be the best you can get.
The
first time I saw a borzoi; I said to myself, "That's what I
want!" At the time, I had no idea that people showed
dogs, or cats, etc. And, I had no idea that borzoi were as
addictive as they are. It started me on a path that would dictate a life
style and obsession few of my family or co-workers really appreciate.
Because I insisted that we own AT LEAST an acre of property OUT SIDE the city;
my husband and I built this house near Des Moines, Iowa in 1987.
I have been lucky enough in this life time to meet and love a wonderful man. It is really because of him I have been able to accomplished what I have with the dogs in recent years. He is 100% supportive of our borzoi addiction and loves them as much as I do. I'd like you meet my husband, Scott Doane.
